    Roles & Responsibilities

    Role Description:

    As a Project Manager in our renovation company, you will be responsible for overseeing renovation projects from inception to completion. You will coordinate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will involve detailed planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure successful project execution. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or changes as they arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Your proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail will be essential in driving successful project outcomes and maintaining client satisfaction.

    Specific Responsibilities:
    1. Trainee will be introduced to the renovation industry: Overview of industry trends, terminology, and key stakeholders. Familiarization with company policies, procedures, and organizational structure. Project management fundamentals: Introduction to project lifecycle, scope management, and project constraints. Basic project management tools and software: Training on project scheduling tools such as Gantt charts and project management software.
    Budgeting and cost estimation: Understanding project budgeting processes, cost estimation techniques, and tracking expenses. Risk management: Identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies for project risks. Communication skills: Effective communication techniques for internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Introduction to project documentation: Importance of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
    2.Trainee will learn about the process of project planning: Detailed planning methodologies, work breakdown structure (WBS), and milestone scheduling. Resource management: Allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials. Procurement management: Procurement planning, vendor selection, and contract negotiation. Quality management: Understanding quality standards, inspections, and quality assurance processes. Permitting and regulatory compliance: Overview of building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements for renovation projects.
    Environmental considerations: Environmental impact assessments, waste management, and sustainable practices. Health and safety regulations: Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) guidelines, safety training, and site safety protocols. Project kickoff meeting: Planning and conducting a successful project kickoff meeting with stakeholders.
    3. Trainee will keep a close eye on the supervision of construction activities, subcontractor coordination, and progress tracking. Conflict resolution: Strategies for resolving conflicts and managing disputes among project stakeholders. Time management: Techniques for scheduling and prioritizing tasks, managing project timelines, and avoiding delays. Progress reporting: Implementing regular progress reporting mechanisms to track project performance and communicate updates.
    4. Trainee will learn about procedures for handling change requests, assessing impacts, and implementing changes effectively. Quality control: Monitoring and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the construction process. Client relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Subcontractor management: Effective subcontractor oversight, performance evaluation, and contract administration.
    5. Project closeout process: Final inspections, punch lists, and completion documentation. Client handover: Conducting client walkthroughs, addressing final details, and obtaining sign-offs. Lessons learned: Conducting project post-mortems, identifying successes and areas for improvement, and documenting lessons learned. Project archive and documentation: Organizing and archiving project documentation for future reference and auditing purposes.
    Warranty management: Establishing warranty procedures, addressing warranty claims, and ensuring client satisfaction post-project. Final financial reconciliation: Reviewing project finances, closing out contracts, and finalizing invoices and payments.
    6. Trainee will learn and understand about advanced scheduling techniques: Resource leveling, critical path analysis, and schedule compression methods. Cost management strategies: Earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, and variance analysis. Stakeholder management: Stakeholder analysis, communication strategies for diverse stakeholders, and stakeholder engagement plans. Advanced risk management: Quantitative risk analysis, risk response planning, and risk monitoring and control.
    7. Contract management: Advanced contract negotiation techniques, contract administration best practices, and dispute resolution mechanisms. Procurement optimization: Supplier relationship management (SRM), vendor performance evaluation, and continuous improvement in procurement processes. Lean construction principles: Introduction to lean construction methodologies, waste reduction techniques, and lean project delivery methods. Innovative technologies in renovation: Exploration of emerging technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), drones, and augmented reality for project management.
    8. Leadership skills development: Transformational leadership, emotional intelligence, and coaching and mentoring techniques for team development. Career planning and advancement: Setting long-term career goals, identifying professional development opportunities, and creating a personal development plan. Presentation and public speaking skills: Techniques for delivering effective presentations, conducting meetings, and representing the company professionally in public forums.
    Networking and industry involvement: Importance of professional networking, participation in industry events, and involvement in professional associations. Ethical considerations in project management: Ethical decision-making frameworks, maintaining integrity in business practices, and upholding professional standards.
