    Duties

    As a Health Scientist (Suicide Prevention) you will:
  • Design and implement surveys, studies or projects that incorporate epidemiological, cultural, social, and behavioral factors
  • Implement and evaluate interventions to identify and address public health problems and issues related to suicide prevention
  • Evaluate social and behavioral science research design, methodology, and analysis related to suicide prevention topics in public health; formulating focused approaches to address gaps in community and behavioral health knowledge
  • Design implementation and evaluation plans for evidence-informed, community-based prevention and/or intervention programs
  • Analyze, interpret, and disseminate data and information for injury reports, scientific abstracts, program planning and evaluation of injury and suicide prevention initiatives
  • Serve as a liaison with local/national organizations to establish and promote effective suicide prevention initiatives
  • Prepare scientific and other articles and technical reports for publication about the results and implications of scientific investigations of injury and suicide prevention
