I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, currently studying subjects like Corporate Finance, Management Accounting, Corporate Reporting & Financial Analysis, from the Singapore Management University and I recently came across a post shared by Accela wherein I was impressed by their commitment to transforming public sector solutions and driving innovation. The event's emphasis on engaging sessions, insightful discussions, and sharing best practices for maximizing the potential of Accela's powerful platform highlights the company's dedication to creating more efficient and connected communities. I believe my abilities and academic achievements would greatly help me to immerse myself into your culture which is why I am very excited to apply for the Finance Coordinator role, at Accela.

I started a FinTech internship at a major technology firm called Falaina Pte Ltd in 2021 and recently also completed 6 months with Infineon Technologies APAC, as a Tax Intern. Both experiences imbibed project management skills needed in forming connections with clientele across the globe. These experiences have shaped my ability to understand Singapore’s economic landscape and taught me skills I could explore further with Accela. During my time at Falaina, I tracked their APAC accounts, used Tableau to visualize sales and revenue, and managed large datasets using complex Excel Functions such as V-Lookup, count-ifs, IF. I also collaborated with other interns to ensure processing of financial transactions, carry out budgeting/forecasting and presented performance reviews using MS Power Point Presentations. While at Infineon, I gained valuable hands-on experience in taxation and financial compliance within the semiconductor industry. I contributed to the preparation and filing of tax returns across multiple APAC jurisdictions using IRAS myTax Portal and ensured meticulous compliance with local tax laws through SAP. My role involved supporting monthly tax reporting processes, conducting tax provisions, and utilizing Excel for precise calculations. This experience enhanced my proficiency in maintaining accurate financial records and utilizing SharePoint for effective documentation management. I recently completed a 3 -month IIM workshop which made me proficient in financial modeling, Ratio/KPI Analysis, Business Valuation and accounting concepts. Leading the SMU Womens’ Connection Team as Finance Secretary was a milestone for me as during the process, I managed to initiate strong business relationships with 7 Famous women entrepreneurs that we invited over to our Talk Show this year- ranging from legal advisors, AI specialists to joint venture chairpersons who graduated from SMU. 

Over the past years, I have learned from my mistakes and seen myself grow into an optimistic individual who values courage, teamwork, and a quick presence of mind. I do understand that there are many other applicants with somewhat similar portfolios and experiences, but I strongly believe that one chance alone is enough to pave the way for great beginnings. Having travelled to Dubai almost every year to accompany my father for work purposes and having pursued my secondary education in Nigeria and Bachelor’s degree in Singapore, I appreciate the essence of working with and respecting diverse cultures.
