Roles & Responsibilities

Min 5 years of Good experience with provisioning, troubleshooting, and administering DELLEMC, Hitachi, HP storage Systems and Netbackup, Commvault, DELL Networker backup solutions and support.

• Experience with Fibre Channel attached SAN storage, ISCSI, and Network Attached Storage solutions

• Troubleshoot and fix storage issues like LUN visibility, access issues, performance issues etc.

• Hands on experience on DELL EMC and HP storage appliances including SAN & NAS protocols

• User management for NAS protocols

• Storage system regular health check-up, fine tuning, Firmware version upgrade patching,

• Experience in IP configurations for NAS protocols including subnetting, routing tables on Storage

• Storage analysis, capacity planning and performance planning of storage components

• Handle onsite/remote hardware & software issues including drive, part failure of storage system and liaising with OEM vendor for support and resolution and performing remediation activities wherever required

• Standby for after office hours and weekend support

• Experience on SAN switches including Zoning, Masking, Mapping devices to servers, Experience with cabling FC cables for Switches

• Experience on Dell Brocade switches

• Experience of working in multi switch environment, configuration of ISL, trunking and multi pathing Backup Solutions

• A strong background with backup systems & Experience in Veritas NetBackup 8.x, 9.X, commvault and networker.

• Familiarity with SAN-based and IP-based backup solutions. Knowledge in operating systems

• Experience with NetBackup/commvault/Networker in a large multi-platform environment including SSO, Master/media server and client configurations, MSDP, storage lifecycle Policy (SLP)

• Experience installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining enterprise backups in a large heterogeneous data centre environment.

• Experience configuring fibre-based tape and disk environments consisting of tape libraries and tape devices, EMC Data Domains, Veritas NetBackup Appliances

• Good understanding of networking protocols

• Experience with support, troubleshooting and problem resolution for tape backup and SAN environments.

• Experience with Tape Storage Capacity Planning.

• Experience with backup and DR recovery technologies and techniques encompassing architecture, design implementation and support functions.

• Demonstrated ability to provide technical recommendations on backup architecture.

• Strong knowledge in backup/recovery administration/design responsibilities in an enterprise environment. Linux, UNIX (Solaris/AIX) and Windows experience is a plus.

• Experience with data recovery of FS, oracle RMAN, VMware Backup Recovery, SQL Backup & Recovery

• Perform routine equipment check and preventative maintenance.

• Document the policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies.

• Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc. and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage.

• Ensuring the data is accessible and recoverable.

• Involve in incident management, change request, service request and change request.
