Description

Dishwashing and Cleaning:
Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils.
Hand wash delicate items that require special care.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, such as stoves, ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers.
Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, including storage areas and refrigerators.
Empty and clean trash bins regularly, ensuring proper waste separation and disposal.
Clean and sanitize food preparation and production areas, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of employee restrooms and break areas.

  • Supply Management:Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, detergents, and other consumables.
Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies, ensuring proper rotation and storage techniques.
Notify the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
Keep track of breakages and report any damaged equipment or items that need replacement.

  • Team Support and Communication:Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of dishware and utensils during service.
Assist chefs and cooks in basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning.
Communicate effectively with other departments, such as the front-of-house staff, to coordinate and fulfill their needs.
Maintain open lines of communication with supervisors and managers regarding any issues or concerns.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and sanitation standards, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safe and efficient dishwashing, cleaning, and maintenance activities.
Report any safety hazards, incidents, or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Participate in regular training programs on food safety, hygiene practices, and proper handling of equipment and chemicals.

  • Organization and Efficiency:Maintain an organized and tidy work area, ensuring that all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored.
Prioritize and manage tasks effectively to meet operational demands.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of workstations and equipment for special events or functions.

Stewarding requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

By maintaining cleanliness and providing support to the kitchen team, Stewards contribute to the overall success and smooth operation of the restaurant.
