Job Description: (Field) Service Engineer

Purpose of the Job

Responsible for managing technical aspects of projects including disassembly, assembly, inspection, repair, installation, and commissioning of equipment and related components.

Characterization

Executes projects based on project manager requests and planning
Leads project teams comprised of mechanics, engineers, and subcontracted staff
Ensures projects are executed safely, with high quality, within budget and timeline
Works on-site (globally) or in workshops under time pressure
Requires flexibility and availability during irregular hours
Specialized in equipment technology and product knowledge
Focuses on safety compliance and customer service

Tasks/Responsibilities

1. Authorizations

Independently performs inspections, measurements, repairs, assembly, and disassembly
Able to operate specialized machines and tools
Skilled in specialist work through required training

2. Execution

Handles assembly, inspection, and repair on-site according to instructions
Determines optimal technical solutions considering costs and downtime
Ensures project progress, safety, quality, and budget adherence
Communicates project status and changes to the manager
Prepares technical reports and protocols if necessary

3. Leading the Team

Manages on-site project teams ensuring safety, quality, and timelines
Coaches and supports team members
Reports and maintains equipment and tools
Promotes personal development and knowledge sharing

4. Safety, Quality, and Environment

Accountable for project safety and quality
Implements and monitors safety measures
Reports safety incidents according to procedure

5. Others

Maintains client contact
Assists in additional project work
Manages relationships with clients
Stays updated on technological advancements

Knowledge and Skills

Technical education in mechanical engineering
Services background desired
Certifications relevant to the role
Proficient in reading engineering drawings
Skilled in using auxiliary tools and instruments
Fluent in English
