Description

We are looking for an experienced game programmer/developer able to bring knowledge and skills in the areas of game development and AR/VR/MR applications to be part of our teaching team as a lecturer.

The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful.

Not only will you have both the knowledge and working experience, you must also possess a passion, patience and dedication for working with youths and adult learners.

There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new subject matter as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects.

Administrative work related to teaching and driving school/institutional strategic initiatives will be an important aspect of the job. You are expected to be self-motivated, resourceful, innovative and especially team-oriented with good initiative and positive mindset.

The appointee must be able to teach one or more of the following areas:

Game development with Unity/Unreal
AR/VR/Immersive Media Application
Frontend Interactive Web Development

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Conduct lessons and develop teaching materials for young and adult learners

\xc2\xb7 Inspire, facilitate and guide students through different learning pedagogies and activities

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate and supervise in-house/industry students\' assignments/projects and provide pastoral care for students\xe2\x80\x99 learning needs

\xc2\xb7 Provide administrative support in the running of the diploma specialisation course/track and general school operations

\xc2\xb7 Assist in the management and delivery of training programmes e.g. enrichment programme for secondary school students or continue education programme for adult learners

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Team player is a must, open-mindset and ready to work in a team setting to take on new challenges

\xc2\xb7 At least 3 years relevant work experience in game / immersive development as a programmer

\xc2\xb7 Strong understanding of the creation process for video game development

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge on AR/VR environments, mixed reality applications, immersive development

\xc2\xb7 Proficient in using Game Engines (Unity, Unreal)

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge in games design or game production

\xc2\xb7 Strong in programming languages e.g. C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Familiar with game development on various platforms e.g. PC, iOS, Android, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge on front-end web development is a plus

\xc2\xb7 Teaching/Training experience is a plus

\xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
